Sara Birthday Escapee

For Sara birthday, we did not plan for a birthday bash..we had our little escape just 3 of us..to have our quiet Sara birthday celebration..we chose the Land Below the Wind..Sabah..

We spent just 3 days there..taking advantage of Labour day holiday...flight was a bit delayed due to 2 passenger suddenly decided not to board on the flight. Following the policy, they have to take out the luggage from the cargo..so took like 1/2 hour for that..Sara crying now and then..boring...too small space..sorry dear..mama & abah cannot afford Business class !

We reached Sabah at 3 sumting..took a cab to the hotel..have a rest..then at 6..we go out for food hunting..we walked along the waterfront to the night market (opposite Filipino Market)..bought some ole-ole for family and friends..for DInner..we bought grill seafood at the stalls behind the Filipino market

The next day we decided to go to Lok Kawi Wildlife Park..it is a zoo..taxi fare to go there is RM120! the taxi driver waited until we finished touring the zoo as it is hard to get taxi there..the place is a bit secluded..the entrance fee was Rm10 for each adult and RM 2 for the tram ride..

Actually we intended to expose Sara to see the animals there..but she seemed to love the tram ride rather than the animals..she fall asleep after 40 minutes we are there..so we decided to go back to the hotel..

But just when we reach hotel, she woke up..so we take a turn to Suria Sabah..the latest shopping complex which was right opposite our hotel..as that day was her birthday, so we treat her to play with the games at the arcade..she was so happy..her face glow! I bought her a new toy which is like a car simulator..she likes it so much...just like her dad who loves car super much!

Sunset was so nice there..we grab the chance to snap few pictures during the sunset..it was really a postcard picture..so serene and beautiful.. and later that night, we went for seafood dinner at Anjung Senja..the taxi driver recommended the place..taxi fare was RM20 one way and the driver teman us for dinner :)...the seafood there was so fresh and cheap!..i enjoy my Ketam so much..so my husband...the cooking also not bad..it was a satisfying dinner indeed!..

Beautiful Sunday morning..I woke up happily knowing that we are going to the Gaya sunday market which is just a walking distance from my hotel..after breakfast, we went there..there are so many things sold there..from households..house deco..even cats and chicks! I bought few tshirts for my nanny kids and also pearl bracelet for her..

To kill time that we still have before our flight..we head to Tanjung Aru beach..we did not bring any swimming wear..so just let Sara to test the sand and the water..she was afraid to sand..so funny to see her face when the sand stick to her skin..but water as usual..she love it..

The water was not what clean..maybe because it is a public beach..but suprisingly, not many people were there...maybe because KK is located by the sea...so people are bored with sea..

We head home that afternoon, flight back was ok..Sara slept 2 hours in the flight..and play with her new toys..few..thank God!...

In summary, Sabah to me is a peaceful place to visit..feel like time flies slower, nice friendly people and good seafood place..maybe when Sara is big enough I will like to go Island hopping, visit Kundasang the Kinabalu park, take a bath at Poring hot spring..take a dinner cruise and so much more exciting activities..but for now, what we had in Sabah is fun enough..we had happy priceless memories together..with the persons I love the most..
